4 Tips to Survive Job Hunting

In some way, everyone has their own ‘blockbuster’ story when it comes to job hunting, whether it’s the first job or the subsequent ones (If you’re still studying, your time will come). Sometimes, job hunting can give colorful experience – some bad, and some good which is worth remembering. Some have it easy and their job hunting somewhat sounds as convenient as going to 7-Eleven to buy a big cup of Slurpee. Some others found it as difficult as finding Osama bin Laden and were eventually left clueless as where to go, and what to do. Next question they ask, “How to eat rice?”. I also endured my own chain of events that it drove me to write a book on it.

It is worth mentioning that sharing the small piece of information may help others who are about to go the same cycle to keep their mind in perspective. A little help goes a long way. In case of my brother in law, he anticipated his challenges as a not-so-brilliant graduate, drew his set of preparation and eventually enjoyed getting an offer before the graduation. Same goes to friend Hamizi, who, in the comment shared how he compensated his weaknesses with his own strategies and strength. Some others, like Syed Hamzah, chose a rather different path to mind his own business, despite being an academic award recipient.

Mohamad Zaki, or Banji has his own version of story, and has recently written a nice article on the mindset needed by a job seeker to survive job hunting. He couldn’t be more right with the 4 principles outlined. I hope you guys will benefit from it and help yourself getting rid of the 7 habits of highly unsuccessful job seekers.
