Doctor Makes More Money Selling on eBay

She is a busy medical doctor, a wife and a mother to four young kids. Two of them are 3-year old twins. With all those responsibilities on her shoulder, you’d imagine what kind of hectic life she’s having. Really, she does not have the luxury of time to do other things many other people can.

But between the little time and the small space she has, Jennifer Lickteig, 35, a family practitioner based in Iowa, United States, has been diligently spending her spare time online, selling all sort of clothing items through eBay, the world’s most popular auction site. [source: CNN]

Last year, she earned $120,000, more than her total earnings as a medical doctor. She also attained the status of eBay Gold PowerSeller, which ranks within the top 2% of all merchants.

Jennifer enjoys the adrenaline rush of being the so-called self-made businesswomen, seeing online users bidding her auctioned items, packing and labeling her stuff and sending the sold items through her own makeshift warehouse. The best part of all, everything is run from the comfort of her own house, without the need of any physical shop or office.

Moral of the story: regardless of profession or career you’re having, never stop of digging the potential of the other you. Chances are, you might uncover something big. In case of Jennifer Lickteig, it is something totally unrelated to her medical field – online business.
