Major providers of blogging platform like Blogspot, Wordpress or even Friendster allow you to host your blog, with the condition that you use their domain name i.e. your blog address will go something like nasigoreng.blogspot.com, mapiau.wordpress.com or lim.friendster/blog or something like that. A Malaysian guy by the name of Beng Han is giving out a generous offer where you can host your blog on his server for free, and using your own domain!
This means that you only need to invest to buy a domain name and a 100MB of hosting capacity will be provided for a start. At the moment, Beng Han has attracted more than 15 blogs to be hosted on his very own server and is now moving to a 2nd batch intake. As for the domain name, you can buy it on your own (e.g. at Exabytes for RM55) or you can buy direct from Beng Han for RM50.
So what’s the catch?
There’s no hidden catch and agenda. What Beng Han asked for a return is to put a banner that links back to his blog, so I think this is fairly a good deal, especially for those beginner and novice bloggers who are only starting to stamp their name in the blogosphere. Off course, those who are currently blogging under the free platform (e.g. blogspot and wordpress) will find it harder to migrate to new domain, especially when their blogs have established ranking, e.g. Adam OK-Lah and Rainbow, with both having good Google Pagerank.
I do hope those who aspire to make blogging as part of their income streams will seriously consider this offer. 100MB hosting is more than enough for a start. Furthermore, Beng Han has given an assurance to me that whenever your space quota gets exceeded, he will increase it further:
“There is an unlimited period for the free hosting account, for the space, i will allocate only 100MB and whenever exceeding, I will increase further to ensure it wont get suspended. In summary, they have unlimited space. In return, they will need to place a banner at their frontpage linking back to my site, thats the only request. “
Can blogging makes me money?
Off course it can. Given the right ingredient, you can make tons of it. Not that I am saying it is easy. There are countless number of blogs out there that are currently making money. Some are making big bucks, some are making enough, while few others are playing the ‘I make money’ make-believe game. The bottom line is, it works. Just take a look at LiewCF.
Being the first full time blogger in Malaysia, Liew is also arguably the richest blogger around in Malaysia at the moment. While he is always keeping mum about how much he makes per month, you can rest assured that it is higher than the salary of the boss of your bosses’ boss. Make sense? And did I not mention that Liew is presently looking for a girlfriend? That’s right ladies. Now you can pursue him, either for his look, or for his money. The choice is entirely yours.
So, claim your free blog host now, and start making money from your own home.

Hey Zul, it is a good way to start your own community. Perhaps, I should oraginze such promotion to my community members. i would say 50% of them doesn;t have blog and out from the 50% , 80% of them are using free hosting like wordpress and blogger.
Nowadays, hosting is so cheap. It is definately a good deal.
