Huawei Technologies is ready to embark on an aggressive recruitment drive after it was appointed DiGi’s vendor to manage the roll out and implementation of DiGi’s 3G network.
Under the contract, Huawei will be supplying UMTS Radio Access and Packet-Switched Core Network equipment and services, as well as undertaking the design, supply, integration, installation, optimization and maintenance work for the early phase of the 3G network implementation.
The recruitment drive will be carried out to get talents and expertise and fulfill the technical positions made available for the project.
Huawei Technologies is the largest network and mobile telecommunication in China, with expertise in research and development, production and marketing, and offering customized network solutions for its customers. The company employs more than 60,000 employees in over 80 facilities worldwide. Its Malaysia operation is headquartered in KLCC.
After being denied a 3G license for years, DiGi finally can breath a sign of relief after being granted access to tap into the 3G spectrum end of year 2007, even that means the holding company Telenor ASA has to give up its majority ownership. It was achieved after DiGi and Time dotCom Bhd (TDC) reached an agreement to transfer the 3G spectrum to DiGi and allowing DiGi to have access to a wider fibre optic network.
