JobStreet.com, Malaysia’s most successful online recruitment website, adds to its collection of impressive achievements after it was named by Forbes among Asia’s Best Under a Billion last week.
The list refers to companies that generate 1 billion dollar in annual sales. It features 200 companies selected from over 24,000 companies which are publicly listed around the Asian region.
In coming up with the top 200 companies, Forbes analyzed a series of measurements and parameters such as the company’s revenue growth, as well as the operational profits.
Apart from JobStreet.com, 12th other Malaysian companies were also included among the 200. They are I-Power, Sarawak Oil Palms, CB Industrial Product, Coastal Contracts, Efficient e-Solutions, ETI Tech, Grand-Flo Solution, Hai-O Enterprise, Notion Vtec, Pintaras Jaya, Success Transformer and Plant Offshore. The companies come from various range of industries including tools and equipment, batteries, information technology, palm oil operation, multi-level marketing, oil and gas, and manufacturing.
JobStreet.com was founded in 1997 by Mark Chang, a graduate in mechanical background from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), USA. Mark resigned his job as a manager with a manufacturing company, roped a few friends along and started his way in building JobStreet.com to become an established and well respected recruitment website. At the peak of their achievement, JobStreet.com made a successful debut in the Mesdaq listing in 2006, before ploughing its way into the main board of Bursa Malaysia more than a year later.
