Malaysia’s most popular online recruitment website and company, JobStreet.com (JobStreet Corp Berhad) is set to spread its spring wider and is now preparing to enter the Indochina job market.

At the moment, apart from Malaysia, JobStreet.com has operation in Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Japan.

JobStreet.com is currently the country’s most dominant player in the online recruitment market, with the Chief Financial Officer, Greg Poarch claiming that the company has as much as 80% of the market share.

At presence, signs, data and statistics seem to support the statement quite well, despite the presence of local and international competitors, such as JobsDB, JenJobs, and the latest, Monster.com.

JobStreet.com was established by the founder and the current CEO, Mark Chang in 1995 which soon revolutionized the recruitment market in the country. Mark was a former graduate in Mechanical from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) , United States. The company achieved a record profit of RM10.5 million for the first quarter of 2008. While the employment and business market are expected to show some decline for the rest of the year, it is expected to come out unscatched.

Apart from providing online recruitment platform, the group itself has a separate division, JobStreet SELECT that handles recruitment and staffing, covering the executive search, permanent, and contract staffing.
