Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is organizing Karnival Kerjaya Kebangsaan 2007 (National Career Fair) held at the UPM main hall. The Fair starts on 26 July and ends 29 July 2007.
Some of the events available are Career Exhibition, Career & Entrepreneurship Talks, Open Job Interview and Advanced Studies Opportunities. There will also be a long list of job vacancies available advertised by major employers. To date a total of close to 7000 thousand job vacancies are available, offered by more than 100 companies.
Some of the already registered employers offering job vacancies are: Petronas, Great Western, Ambank Group, Carrefour Malaysia, Dell, MISC, MIMOS, Prudential, Radicare, Skali, AXA, Colgate Palmolive, British American Tobacco, CIMB, Khazanah Nasional, HSBC, Celcom, Panasonic and many others. So there are many big names here.
Karnival Kerjaya Kebangsaan 2007 is an initiative to give more access to the public on the latest career information and happenings especially to the graduates and graduating students. Various career fields are involved and are geared towards increasing marketability and employability of job seekers in Malaysia as well as giving a clearer picture about career development.
If you are a job seeker and has the intention of finding job opportunities please make sure you don’t come empty handed. Bring copies of your resume as well as the photocopies of your relevant certificates. As they are many job vacancies available, make sure you bring surplus copies of resume. Even if you’re not actively looking for job, it is perhaps a good time for you to ‘network’ with your future employers. Most of them are in a good mood during career fairs and you will see most of them happily giving away free-for-all business cards!
