More Than 1,000 Youth March For Jobs in UK

This event took place in London. More than 1,000 unemployed youth marched through the city as an action to demand for jobs. They blamed the Government for “failing their future”, for not providing enough socially useful work.

It is estimated that over one million of youth (ranging from 16 to 24 years old) in UK are unemployed, which led to this march.

What are they demanding for?

They want socially useful work on full pay.

Some of the young voices that can be heard:

“Young people are more of an investment than the banks, yet the government has not seen things that way”.

“There’s all sorts of socially useful work that could be created and that’s why we are here today. We want to get that message across.”

“It was confirmed last week that a million young people are not in employment or education – is it going to take an entire generation before ministers take notice?”

Now that we are in Malaysia, aren’t we supposed to be thankful that we have a job? There is no need to be picky when it comes to a job.

The lesson is to work hard and stay in a job long enough. Job hopping is definitely a no-no for now, with financial and economic crisis hitting the world.

If you have a job, thank God!
