Motorola is one of the premier leaders in the telecommunication industry, providing embedded electronic solutions, wireless infrastructure network and integrated communication to customers in more than 100 countries worldwide. Altogether, the company employs more than 68,000 employees throughout the world.

Among the company’s range of products are two-way radio and messaging systems, internet-access products, interactive digital audio and video, high speed data solution, and embedded electronic solutions for navigation, industrial and energy markets.

Motorola Penang is now opening up internship opportunities for students pursuing tertiary education in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

The opening is available for those who are currently undertaking Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electromechanical Engineering or similar courses. As a pre-requisite, interested applicants need to have a current CGPA of 3.0 and above (second class upper).

The internship, which lasts for about 3 months (in which the applicants can choose their preferred start and end date, is to be based in Bayan Lepas, Penang. Closing date: 8 December 2008.

Motorola Malaysia has been established since 1974, and today is made up of two manufacturing sites, a state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) center, and an MSC-status software house. The company is in a middle of expansion after its recent move to invest more than RM350 billion (USD110 million) to grow the Malaysia operation.
