Love shopping? Have MyKad? Shop with your MyKad to earn cash reward for your purchases. As we know MyKad is a multi-functional card and now the Information, Communications, Culture and Arts Ministry and Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) has come up with a brand new loyalty and rewards programme known as Sahabat 1Malaysia.
This is to encourage more people to use their MyKad when they shop, as an alternative for Debit card or Credit card. When you shop using your MyKad, you will get cash reward that will be credited into your MyKad via a virtual bank.
At the moment, there are 10,000 members. This program is handled by MRewards International Sdn Bhd.
According to Managing Director Tan Hang Ming, “In other countries, foreigners and locals enjoy different pricing for goods. So we created a system that benefits Malaysians with MyKad.”
Apart from that, MyKad is also being used for an on going charity program known as MyKasih. This program is specially designed for underprivileged families so that they can use their MyKad to shop at selected supermarkets. A good way to help poor people to get daily necessities.
What do you think of this system? Do you think more people will be using MyKad for shopping? Is it safe and secure? Let us know what you think.
