NST, together with MAPCU (Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities) have teamed up to provide the so-called NST Scholarship Fund 2008. The scholarship has been provided since the late 90s.
While part of the objectives of the scholarship is to award students with merit in academic with financial funding, priority will be given to those students who come from the lower income group, and from the less wealthy family.
Each scholarship amounts to RM10,000 or more given out through waiver of tuition fee (and not with cash). With the amount, it should be understood that this scholarship is only applicable for courses enrolled and completed inside the country, Malaysia.
Courses available for scholarship are Certificate, Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate courses, ranging from 1 year to 4 years.
MAPCU is a recognized body by the Ministry of Education, with memberships come mostly from the established private higher learning institutions in Malaysia e.g. Taylor’s College, KDU, Monash University, Sunway University College, UCSI, INTI College and KLIUC, to name a few.
The recipients of the scholarship may or may not be bond by the learning institutions – this is to be decided and agreed between the institutions (which are part of the fund’s contributor) and the scholarship recipients.
Dateline of the application is 20 April 2008.
