The buzz it created caused thousand of interested applicants swarming the website and at one point, the spike of traffic caused the website crashing and had to be restored again.

The application was open from 29 March 2009 and will be closed on 7 April 2009 (5pm). All applications are to be made online, and the applicants would know the result on 21 April.

Instep, or Institut Teknologi Petronas is a training and educational center wholly owned by Petronas, the country’s major oil company. Located in Batu Rakit, Terengganu, Instep was founded in 1981 to train students and workers not only associated with Petronas but also other oil operators and vendors. Basically, the purpose of its establishment is to expose graduates to the oil and gas experience, particularly in the engineering and technical areas.

The latest intake offers 2 different petroleum related technology programs (e.g. Electrical, Instrumentation, Laboratory, Process and Mechanical), catering for Diploma holders and SPM leavers.

Applicants who found the website inaccessible are advised to make their visit and make their application at later time.
