The SPM timetable 2008, which has been finalized and published will not be changed despite concern over cramped schedules.

Based on the timetable, some candidates would need to sit for three papers on one examination day, stretching a total time of seven hours for the day.

For instance, on 18 November  2008, there will be students who would be sitting down for Additional Mathematics 1 at 8 am (2 hours), followed by Additional Mathematics II at 10.30am (2.5 hours), and then finally the Moral Education/Quranic Education at 2pm (2.5 hours).

The director-general of education, Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom told the media that is is impractical to change the timetable now as all dates have been approved and the question papers are now already being printed.

The 2008 timetable for the SPM is now available for download in the Ministry of Education’s website. The examination starts on Monday 13 October 2008 and ends with final papers on Friday 5 December 2008.
