There are jobs in the world that are stressful and low paying. Logically, stressful jobs should be high paying but no, in reality, the most stressful job would be the lowest paying job. All these jobs have very high percentage of stress level – more than 50%.
1. Social Worker – $43,200 a year
Can we blame social worker for being stressful? No, we should understand that a social worker has to deal with many people and different situations for different cases. Sometimes they have to deal with kids while others have to deal with adults. A social worker is there to help these people to go through hard times and they are being paid $12 an hour.
2. Special Events Coordinator – $35,900 a year
Wow, event planning can only rake in about $30,000 a year? This is a surprise as there are tons of events all year round. The worst part about being an event planner is that you can never predict the outcome of the event. For example, you can plan everything to be in its place but you will only know whether the event is successful once it is over.
3. Probation / Parole Offcer – $38,400 a year
Who says being a parole officer can rake in tons of money every year? With almost $40,000 a year, that is not an impressive amount. Not only you get such a low amount of salary, you have to work like a cow especially when the felons are skipping town, trying to get away from probation. No, this is not an easy job.
4. News Reporter – $32,900 a year
They are not as glamour as any other celebrities but they are the ones who bring you the latest news on TV. They are earning about $30,000 a year, which is definitely lower than what they deserve.
5. Music Ministry Director – $40,800 a year.
You get to be the music ministry director for funerals, weddings and other events but there are times when you don’t get to decide on the music to play as people would have ’special request’ so be prepared to play inappropriate songs for inappropriate events as requested.
6. Membership Manager – $42,600 a year
Think it is easy to be a membership manager? You have to sell certain number of memberships every month. You have to make sure that these memberships last for a long time and the most important of all, you have to try to get them to buy the highest paying membership package to earn more money. Sounds tiring? Yes, it is and you only get about $40,000 a year, which is really low.
7. Fundraiser – $42,700
Being nice is good but when you have to sacrifice your time to raise funds for others and getting paid such a low salary, it doesn’t seem good enough. You can volunteer to be a fundraiser but fundraiser is definitely not a good choice of career unless if you really enjoy it.
8. Commercial Photographer – $43,600 a year
This job is not glamour at all. You have to deal with picky clients, difficult to manage models and very, very demanding deadlines.
9. Assisted Living Director – $46,000 a year
You have to take care of a bunch of old people and you have to make sure they are all comfortable. This seems to be easy but it is more than just getting their meals on time and change their bedding.
10. Minister – $45,300 a year
This is not about holding a bible and a cross. This is more than just preaching people. You need to listen to people as they describe their life, their fears, their sins and their last wishes. You might get calls after midnight so be prepared to live such a life.
