JPA Scholarships for Students With 9A+

Good news for all students who had completed SPM in 2009.

It is announced that all students who get 9A+ in SPM will receive JPA Scholarships for local or international universities. Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak confirmed this news during his opening speech at the 64th MIC annual general meeting.

JPA Scholarship is part of an effort to help the citizens by the government. Students of all races will receive JPA Scholarships as long as they obtain 9A+ in SPM. By offering JPA Scholarships for top scorers, hopefully it will encourage more students to study hard and study smart.

So far more than 2,000 Indian students are placed in public universities and over 4,000 students have applied to enter public universities.

JPA Scholarship also shows that Malaysia is truly practicing the 1 Malaysia spirit. Everyone gets a chance to further their studies.

Sheikh Muszaphar-ACMS Scholarship

Want to study medicine?

Our National Astronaut, Datuk Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar is collaborating with Allianze College of Medical Science (ACMS) to launch the Sheikh Muszaphar-ACMS scholarship. It is launched to help those who achieve outstanding results to pursue their higher education in medicine.

If you are one of them, be prepared to apply for it.

At first, this program will fund 200 students. They will be receiving RM2,000 early next year when they start their semester in college.

By having this scholarship, they hope that more students would be able to fulfill their dreams of becoming a doctor. There are so many students graduating from SPM and STPM every year and naturally many of them dream of becoming a doctor. They can even study for Diploma before going on to Degree.

Besides, Malaysia is lack of excellent doctors. It is time to train more doctors and this scholarship is perhaps one of the best solutions.

If you get the scholarship, you are lucky as Datuk Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar will be your foster father and guide you along your way towards success. The scholarship you get should be able to cover all the expenses for the first three months such as air tickets and text books before getting your PTPTN.

University of Edinburgh International Scholarship

The University of Edinburgh, Scotland is opening up 10 scholarship opportunities for international undergraduates coming from the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Students wishing to apply for the scholarship must have accepted admission to any academic program in the university.

The scholarship is eligible for those pursuing full time courses only, and awarded to students based on merit.

Each scholarship is worth £1,000 per academic year, and will be tenable throughout the duration of study in the university. All applications must be submitted before 1 April 2009. The final shortlisted scholarship recipients will be announced in May 2009.

Maxis Scholarship For Excellence 2008

Maxis Scholarship For Excellence is back for the year 2008, this time bigger and better. If previously, the scholarship opportunity is offered for postgraduate students only, now undergraduate students can also take part and apply.

Generally, the Maxis Scholarship is offered to a selected number of students who gained acceptance from established universities in the United States, United Kingdom as well as from local universities.

Depending on the university location, a scholarship recipient may receive up to RM10,000 per year for local institution, while oversea scholarship can amount up to RM150,000 per year. A diverse range of courses and programs are available for the scholarship opportunity such as life sciences, engineering, business, management, medicine, law and arts.

40 places for scholarship offers are made available, with the successful ones to be selected through a stringent set of criteria. These include consistent production of academic excellence, active participation in leadership and co-curricular activities, wide knowledge in current affairs and passion in self-development. In summary, the company is looking for those individuals with all-round capability, talent and achievement.
