The Chicken Rice Shop to Enter Europe

After many rounds of successes in the local scene, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS), a Malaysia homegrown food chain, is now streamlining strategy to enter the European market.

The Chicken Rice Shop was first established 8 years ago in 2000 by a mother-daughter team, Khoo Gheng Gaik and Kah Lin.

Armed with family inherited Hainanese chicken rice recipe, the two aimed to promote local meals through a fast food chain concept. The food chain serves steamed, roasted, braised, honey and barbequed chicken as its flagship products.

Apart from aggressively hiring and recruiting competent front desk staff, TCRS is also backed by a strong research and development (R&D) team who continue brainstorming and introducing new and innovative products to the market.

Their first outlet was opened in Taipan USJ, and since then, more outlets started to mushroom not only in Klang Valley, but in the southern and eastern coast of peninsular Malaysia, as well as in West Malaysia. The most recent outlet was opened in One Borneo, Sabah’s largest shopping mall, as the company’s 50th outlet.

Today, The Chicken Rice Shop operates not only in Malaysia but has gone beyond the shores including Singapore, Australia and other Asian countries. It also offers franchise opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs who are keen to take advantage of the growing popularity of the food chain.
