The Kuok Foundation Scholarship

The Kuok Foundation was established in 1970 with the objective to assist the poor and the needy with financial assistance, and help alleviating the poverty in the country.

It was founded by a number of philanthropists and businessmen, including the Kuok brothers (two), an eye surgeon Dato’ Dr. Keshminder Singh, consultant surgeon Dato’ SMA Alhady, and lawyer Mr Abdullah Dato’ Abdul Rahman.

Under the foundation, scholarship opportunities are provided to needy Malaysian citizens who are pursuing (or enrolling) various courses and levels including postgraduate studies (Master of Science [M.Sc] and PhD), undergraduate, diploma and certificate programs.

The PhD and M.Sc scholarships are offered to postgraduate students who are pursuing research and studies in the field of engineering, and science & technology. The award for the undergraduate studies are divided into 3 – a degree course at local public university (IPTA), selected local private institutions (IPTA) and entry to National University of Singapore as well as Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

On the other hand, scholarship for diploma and certificate are offered to Malaysian citizens studying in public polytechnics in Malaysia and Singapore, as well as Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) College. Similar funds are also extended for MLVK programs.
