The year 2008 will see the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) hosting the National Career Carnival (Karnival Kerjaya Kebangsaan 2008), taking over from last year’s organizer UPM.

Held yearly, with host rotated, the career carnival is a combined initiative between the government and the private sector players.

Among of the usual events happening during the career fair are company booth exhibition (where job seekers can talk to the employers and submit their resume), career and motivational talks, walk-in interviews, entrepreneurial workshop, resume and career clinic, and many more.

Visitors can also take the opportunity to sit down for psychometric test analysis, which is capable to define your personality, strength, and how your career can best be developed. In addition to that, those who intend to pursue their studies in undergradate and postgraduate programs can also expose themselves with a wide range of academic courses offered, including potential scholarship openings.

Among of the established companies making their presence during the fair are Shell, Sime, CIMB, Huawei, Masterskill, SME Bank, MCIS Zurich, SKALI, MISC, Petronas, ExxonMobil, Astro, Dell, Intel, IBM, Khazanah Nasional and many more. A number of government offices and agencies are also expected to be there including the Public Service Department (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam), Human Resource Department, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), as well as a public universities.
