Wondering why you are not advancing in your career? Stuck at your position and never move forward? Well, you might want to evaluate your daily schedule. Something might just pop into your mind and open your eyes on why you are so slow moving in your career.
Everything you do has consequences. When you are doing nothing, there are also consequences. The key is do the right thing at the right time.
For example, you reach the office at 8am. At this hour, you will realise most of your colleagues are either busy arriving, busy making coffees or having chit chat with each other and finally. Then again, someone might actually get started at work. That someone might also happen to be a successful colleague in the same office (perhaps with a higher ranking or at least earn more than you do).
So, what’s the difference between you and “that someone”?
“That someone” is doing something you are NOT doing – work on time (i.e. 8am or 8.30am).
When you start working early, naturally you will be in the mood for work until lunch time. Those few hours before lunch time are very essential because the first few hours will determine how much work you can complete before the day ends.
So if you get started on work early, it means you can finish most of your tasks by the end of the office hours. By working early in the morning, you can avoid the “incident” of sending in your report three days after dateline.
So what are you waiting for? It is time for a change and who knows, your boss might be watching your back for doing a great job! The next promotion is definitely yours, if you keep on presenting the best of yourself.
This is just the beginning. There’s more to learn.
