Yayasan Lee Shin Cheng Scholarship 2008/2009

Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng is the CEO and Executive Chairman of IOI Group, a premier operator of palm oil plantations and property developer. IOI is also one of the country’s biggest conglomerates, having operation not only in Malaysia, but also across various different continents.

As part of the giving-back-to-society initiative, the company established Yayasan Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng in 1998 to act as a welfare foundation.

Under the foundation, a scholarship scheme called The Yayasan Tan Sri Dato’ Lee Shin Cheng Scholarship is offered to excellent students who wish to pursue or continue their studies for a selection of Undergraduate and Posgraduate (Master’s Degree) courses. The following courses are available for the current offering.

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree):

  • Engineering - Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumental, Civil & Structural, Mechatronics
  • Agriculture/Horticulture, Bio-Industry, Forestry
  • Lipase Biocatalyst
  • Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting
  • Quantity Surveying, Landscape, Architecture, Town Planning

Postgraduate (Master’s Degree):

  • Science (Plant Biotechnology)

To be eligible for the scholarship, interested candidates (for undergraduate courses) must have score min 2As in STPM/A Level, or min CGPA in Foundation, or min 90.0 for Australian TER. First and second year undergraduate students must have a current CGPA of 3.5 or 2nd Class Hons or equivalent.

For postgraduate courses, the candidates must have scored a min 2nd Class Hons in the Degree. Those who are presently already pursuing their courses can also apply.
