Business Unit / Department: MARA Campus Management Project Team
Tenure: 1 year Contract
External Description:
The Project Manager will be the site leader, owner and facilitator who oversees the work tasks and deliverables of functional groups and outsource partners of the site (multiple – max 3 sites).
The Project Manager will be involved in the management of overall budgets, schedules, project team and project deliverables.
The Project Manager will report to the Project Director

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Owns overall project management for assigned sites (max 3 sites)
• Works with the Project Director for overall project requirements as often as possible
• Leads and works with project team to deliver on key project metrics on a daily basis
• Co-operates closely with client liaison to ensure all requirements are positively surpassed, either on milestone deadlines or earlier
• Ensures that the most suitable team/people is assigned to a project/task by working with Functional Heads of Technology, Marketing and Management as required
• Leads, motivates and manages assigned cross-functional teams to maximize contribution to effectiveness and efficiency. Leads these activities by example
• Works in conjunction with cross-functional team in planning of project management oriented work and owns the validation and tracking of:
· Task definition/breakdown
· Dependency management
· Scheduling
· Resource management
· Risk management
• Monitors product through life-cycle by regular interface with project team –
runs weekly team meetings; tracks team progress and schedules, runs post-
project evaluation meetings
• Owns communication about all projects to Project Director
• Sets the quality bar for deliverables, communication and behaviour, Supports the
Sales & Marketing team if required
• Participates in on-going identification of key areas for process improvement in the
development team; drives agreed processes – ‘makes sure it happens’
Percentage of Travel (mostly will be based at site and reporting to HQ): 20% – 30%

Responsibilities: The ideal candidate must have:
Essential:
• A relevant qualification in computer science, education, business or project management, or relevant, significant work experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience at a similar level in similar/relevant roles within the multimedia/education industry
• Strong project management skills – expert at building and tracking project plans and risk management, preference given to those with PMP certification
• Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to drive consensus among various internal stakeholders, including executive management and third parties
• Customer service orientation with ability to manage relationships with internal and external parties (management, client, vendors)

Desirable:
• Hands-on experience in producing multimedia products, preferably for delivery on multiple platforms, in a multi-product environment, on-time and to industry quality standard
• Strong experience in managing multiple projects at multiple sites concurrently
• Experience working closely and developing good relations with clients and third party vendors
• High degree of business acumen with the ability to add strategic value to projects
• Experience working with Product Marketing teams defining and specifying product requirements
• Experience liaising with and managing geographically remote teams including working with different cultures
