Our client is a prestigious international organisation, has been providing independent assurance services to industry and governments the world over. The significant expansion of their Oil and Gas business in Asia has created a number of exciting opportunities in the area as part of their growing team One of the key roles is that of an experienced Naval Architect with significant industry experience. The position could be based in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.
Job vacancy: Senior Naval Architect - Oil and Gas
Location (Kuala Lumpur/Singapore)
The role is offered on a local / expatriate basis depending on the candidate with a corresponding competitive package. Principal responsibilites associated with theis role are as follows:
- Verification of design compliance of floating structures and their mooring systems against relevant codes, standards and regulations
- Analysis of floating offshore structures
- Provision of support services to assist builders, designers and owners in the interpretation and application of the relevant rules and regulations
- Performance of assessments and provision of specialist advice for service delivery, research or development work
- Championing service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external client feedback as appropriate
- Coaching and mentoring other employees to disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
- Interface with designers and clients
- Supporting the preparation of bids in response to tenders
Our requirements.
Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
- Naval Architecture Degree
- Minimum 5 years naval architecture experience including detailed designs
- Extensive background and experience in dealing with hull and/ or moorings
- Experience in large tanker, mooring system and FPSO
- Familiarity with numerical and experimental modelling techniques applicable to offshore floating systems
- Experienced in fabrication and conversion methods
- Experience in design of floating structures would be an advantage
- Experience in design appraisal and added advantage
